Summer Leadership Retreat
This retreat provides young women with an exciting, powerful, and life-changing summer of community building, learning, and leadership development. Each cohort will learn more about themselves and sisterhood, so they may emerge from this retreat ready to be part of a catalyst of positivity and academic excellence at Brandon High School. Students will participate in a retreat exploring themes of identity, cultural awareness, faith and so much more. Students will also participate in community service and an experiential learning field trip. The retreat lasts between 2-3 days.

College & Career Prep
Juniors and seniors meet twice a semester for our "future planning" sessions. Students learn about different scholarships, programs, and universities. We also help with essay writing, FAFSA, and scholarship applications throughout the year. Students are also encouraged to attend a college and/or trade school tour with BLOOM.
-
Mentorship & Accountability
Students meet once a semester for a mandatory check in with the club sponsor. Based on the needs discussed, we create a growth plan. Starting in February 2024 we will have members from the community meet bi-weekly with select group of students to provide accountability. Moreover, our student led BLOOM connections team works hard to keep members updated and connected.

Monthly Guest Speakers
Our guest speakers vary from different careers and experiences that can benefit our students. Some of our speakers include the Florida Petite Pageant owner, St. Joseph Hospital executive, HCC Honors College president, a military veteran now stay at home mom, opera singer, lash artist, and more! Every speaker is asked to share their story and a presentation on what aligns with the monthly theme.
-
Safe Space
This space is ONLY for current BLOOM members. If a student is having a bad day, they can come in here to grab a calming anxiety strip, drink tea, and/or journal. Students also use this space to quietly work on assignments. Students will find snacks, stickers, feminine products, books and so much more!

Sisterhood Events
The purpose of the monthly sisterhood events is to create camaraderie amongst the female students on our campus. By doing this we can contribute to the positive community building on campus that can help decrease tardies, suspensions, and fighting. Every event has a theme, food, games, and a small reflection. Some of our themes include valentines, brats vs. barbie, and vision board night.

Quarterly Celebrations
Students make a commitment to strive for a 2.5 gpa every quarter. Students that obtain that gpa or show significant improvement are rewarded with a special lunch or activity. For example, quarter 1 consisted of a lunch from a local restaurant and quarter 2 will be a painting party.

Big Sis/Lil Sis Program
Starting in May 2024 BLOOM members will be going to elementary schools to lead workshops on self-love, confidence, and academic excellence to 5th grade girls. Students will also use a pen pal system to mentor 5th grade girls. Currently we are offering a mini mentorship opportunity between BLOOM members in which an upperclassmen is paired with an underclassmen.

Weekly Bible Study
Students have the option of attending a weekly bible study in which our faith coordinator leads. This is an opportunity for girls to share any struggles they are facing during the week and leave refreshed and/or understood. This school year we were able to take 14 students that attend bible study to a youth convention. The girls bonded and were able to get the emotional rest they needed.
