Our Mission
BLOOM Girls Club Inc. exists to provide young women with an exciting, powerful, and life-changing program of community building, mentorship and leadership development that can empower them to tap into their fullest potential.
Everything BLOOM does is in service of ensuring young women will thrive in their community through our core values of compassion, accountability, equity and leadership. BLOOM is dedicated to giving 9th-12th grade girls from different backgrounds and walks of life the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. Our work puts Christian values into practice and demonstrates God's love by empowering students and meeting their social, emotional and academic needs.
Girls NEED programs TOO!
There is no mentorship program available for struggling female students like there is for male students in the current school district I work in. There are many programs that work to decrease the male to prison pipeline and ensure male voices are empowered within our schools. However, there is a huge need for young women to be mentored and built into strong members of our community. The data shows that there has been an increase in female behavior and attendance issues which is currently impacting academics. For example, at one high school in the school district, there was a 5.2% increase between the 2018-2019 school year and the 2022-2023 school year in the number of female students in ISS/OSS. The population of the school in 2022-2023 was 300 students less than the 2018-2019 school year. The increase is a problem across the entire district in both middle and high schools.
BLOOM is the solution as it is founded on providing the hope, love, and guidance that many girls are crying out for.
